Our Trip to Omaha

Just in case you were wondering what it's like to fly with 2 children aged 3 and under......I would not recommend it!
Security check in....oh what fun, they are climbing out of the cart/wagon thing we have them wrangled in and running through the metal detector and running right on down the corridor....while I'm still trying to remove my shoes and watch and phone and laptop and whatever completely unnecessary accessories I stupidly decided to bring me with me (like I was actually going to have time to get on my computer...wishful thinking).
Anyways, we made it to the gate....the first hour of waiting went by without incident, but as the delays kept rolling in, and Sebastian spotted a container of Play-doh under a bench in the airport.....that was all she wrote. Like he thought of nothing else, and no matter how much I tried to distract him from the Play-doh, nothing worked. I kept praying for them to call us to board. Well they finally did and that was a sight to see....trying to get 2 children out of the wagon and close before actually boarding, while said children try to get on plane without you, while carrying 4 carry on bags.....LOADS OF FUN!
Sebastian has flown once before to Disney, but that was when he had just turned 1 and like fell asleep on the plane....basically light years ago, when he was a completely different child, lol. God love him! He began to cry the moment we got on the plane, like hyperventilating, bawling crying.....it was brutal, and did not stop until we were at a steady altitude (which was awhile). But on a positive note, he could have cried the entire time. To give you a visual....just picture both children crying and wanting to simultaneously sit on your lap and be comforted while the flight attendant is telling me to buckle them in (I'm like alright lady....as if the fellow passengers didn't already hate us....now they were really going to love us ;-))
Fast forward a few minutes, Aspen falls asleep on top of me, while Sebastian belts out the ABC's at the top of his lungs :-) Then Aspen wakes up, and Sebastian dozes off as we are landing (like seriously, as we are landing, who does that?). Then it is my job to wake this child that JUST fell asleep only to get onto another plane. Woo-hoo! Again...LOADS OF FUN!
I will spare you the details on diaper changes on planes (straight up ridiculous), soaking wet clothes, and Sebastian getting off the plane in a diaper and socks, with no pants or shoes....I really looked like Mother of the year....let me tell you ;-)! Moral of the story.....we made it to Omaha safely in one piece, praise God!
