Days 24-28

Things went AWESOME this week!

Although, we did have a small setback this week, where he swallowed a bite whole without chewing. Because of that we had to go back to Size 2 bites for a few sessions to make sure he realizes that is not okay and he could choke, but we are now doing half Size 2 bites and half Size 4 bites. We hope to be on all Size 4 bites by early this week.

Some huge successes this week:

  • He went from 8 ml per drink to 14 ml per drink. The next step is just is to put a full 8 ounce drink in a cup in front of him and for him to consume it with only one request.

  • We moved Sebastian out of the tomato chair (5 point harness) and into the booster seat for solid foods for the first time, and it went seamlessly! Feels so much more age typical!

  • We also completed all of Sebastians' 7 MEALS....yes 7 MEALS per day at home this weekend....which is AMAZING! He transitioned beautifully! He ate all of his solid food, pureed food, and finished all of his drinks on request, with no problem behavior!

Below you will see an idea of what food prep looks like....it is CRAZY! To puree 16 foods, cook 16 foods and prepare them in 2 different size bites is crazy time consuming....but so worth it! He is eating and chewing and that is what we are here for! Praise God!

Some goals for the upcoming week:

  • to drink the full amount of liquid in one session

  • to increase the amounts of table texture (solid) food Sebastian is consuming, while decreasing the amount of pureed

  • and lastly, to attempt self feeding with table texture and see how he responds

Please continue to pray...we only have 10 full days left at the clinic! These days are so important! Things are going so well and we pray God continues to bless us! We love each and every one of you!

Pictures of our week are below! :-)

We are really going to miss all these playgrounds at the clinic!

Watching a dvd on one of his breaks!

A future bowling alley worker....or pro bowler??? ;-)

Sweet tea makes everything better!

Sebastian loves to read....anywhere, poor kid, we need to work on his recess skills before Kindergarten :-)

And here is the woman of the house....don't let her sweet demeanor fool you...she runs this joint!

Meal prep....you know you are jealous of me! Haha! This is just a piece of it....crazy!

That's one way to use the couch cushions ;-)

There actually playing together....a rarity, so I had to snap a pic. So sweet!

See I told you...can't say no to this precious face! She is in control!

After a long day....going......going

GONE!

Thank you prayer warriors! We are so grateful! Our sweet boy thanks you too!
